Insert the cleaning tablet into the portafilter, attach it to the group head, and run the cleaning cycle as instructed by the manufacturer. This removes coffee oils and residue from inside parts.
- Clean the Group Head: Remove the portafilter and wipe the group head with a damp cloth to remove any coffee grounds. Use a brush to clean the shower screen and silicone seal.
- Clean the Grinder: Empty the bean hopper and clean it to remove any old coffee grounds. This prevents any stale flavours remaining.
Monthly Maintenance
- Descale the Machine: As recommended by Sunbeam, descale the machine every 1–3 months with a descaling solution. This removes mineral build-up and keeps the machine performing.
- Replace the Water Filter: If your machine uses a water filter, it’s important to replace it to maintain the water quality.
